Planning For Life

Planning For Life Addresses Mind, Body and Soul

Want to get ahead in life? If you do, check out Planning For Life (PFL). PFL is a toolkit that helps students like you to better prepare - academically, physically, emotionally and financially - to further your education and plan for your life.

A key way to ensure success is to make sure your mind, body and soul are all working together. To strengthen your mind, body and soul, come to a PFL workshop in your community, or check out these areas of our website:

The Mind : learn about your strengths; plan for college (including making college affordable); research/plan for careers; and get ready for standardized tests with a free online test prep program worth $500-700;

The Body : don't just exercise your eyes - get moving! Learn about the importance of physical fitness, and get tips and suggestions for developing and maintaining a healthy diet.

The Soul : Hear about overcoming challenges in life, the importance of planning for life and achieving goals, and values, character and leadership.

Mind, Body and Soul do all need to work together to make you a stronger person. But you don't need to do it alone. Partner organizations such as the Council for Opportunity in Education's TRIO program, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), and the National Urban League (NUL), are working hand-in-hand with the program's sponsor, The U.S. Army, to give you the tools you need free of charge - like this Web site and the PFL workshops -- to help you plan for your life.

To get a little insight into what happens at a PFL workshop is all about, watch this video, http://www.planningforlife.com/video/east-stlouis.html. Afterwards continue surfing the Mind, Body and Soul website and then check out this list of upcoming PFL workshops. Good luck!
